Adrian Ingram 'signature' guitar pickups, manufactured by
Telecaster Pickups These have been designed to produce a warm, 'fat' tone as well as a real punch, somewhat akin to a good P90 or 'Charlie Christian'. The tone is similar to that used by Kenny Burrell (period 57-67) and George Benson (Period 64-74). The Tele neck pickup has a fatter and fuller sound on the top E and B strings. It uses 43 guage, plain, enamel wire over alnico 2 magnets. It is only lightly wax potted to achieve a warmer, more open, sound. The nickel cover features the older style (pre CBS) 'squared' edge and the overall output is 7.6 The Tele bridge pickup uses alnico V magnets and 42 guage wire. It has an old style copper plated steel base-plate and is wax potted in the usual way, making it suitable for more aggressive, and louder, blues playing. It has an output of 7.5. Humbucking Pickups As with the Tele set these are designed to have a warmer asnd fatter (thicker) 'top-end'. They feature alnico IV magnets with plain enamel 42 guage wire and, in common with early PAF's are not wax-potted, in order to retain their full sensitivity and warmth.
